Firmware Upgrade

Uploading (upgrading) firmware of protected data storage CHDU5000 is performed via TM5000WIN print manager.

Function is available in Configuration on EXPERT tab.

Requirements

  • CHDU5000 firmware file must be available
  • Firmware can be downloaded from VAROS company website
  • Firmware files are standardly located in directory: C:\TM5000WIN\CHDU5000_FW

Firmware Upload Procedure

  1. Using Browse button, select required firmware file
    (from CHDU5000_FW directory).

  2. Pressing Flash firmware button starts upload process
    (separate blue window of application is displayed).

  3. During initial phase, process can still be interrupted.

  4. Application automatically verifies:

  • CHDU processor type,
  • current firmware version,
  • uploaded firmware version.

  1. If all conditions are met, system allows launching of actual upload process.

  2. After successful flashing or process interruption, current values are read again from CHDU5000 and displayed in information window.

  3. For successful completion of upgrade, FT5000WIN application restart is required.

⚠️ Warning:
During firmware upload, do not disconnect device and do not turn off computer. Process interruption may lead to CHDU malfunction.
